Participants must be a minimum of 15 years of age must successfully pass the required pre-course swimming test (see release form for requirements of swim test). If you are unable to attend ALL classes and complete the on-line portion of class you will NOT pass the course. Upon successful completion of the class each participant will receive the following American Red Cross Certifications: Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Automated External Defibrillation (AED), and Preventing Disease Transmission. Participants should bring lunch, towels, suits, sandals, lock (combination/key), water bottle, ID (government issued) and class room tools every day.

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach the basic-level American Red Cross Lifeguarding course.
• Be at least 17 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
• Possess a current basic-level certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Successfully complete the online Introduction to the Lifeguarding Instructor Course prior to the precourse skills session via the class roster and online content completion status report.
• Obtain all instructor and participant materials before entering the first session of the instructor course.

A re-certification course without having to take the full content course.
Current lifeguards who will expire or have expired in the past 30 days and wish to maintain their certifications and skills. If you are more than 30 days past your expiration date you will not be permitted to participate in this course without written consent from the American Red Cross.
